Concert Black - (Set time: 10:15 PM)
Concert Black
Concert Black formed in Brooklyn in 2011 after bonding over the music George Crumb and Riskay. While all the members boast acute classical over-training, Domenica Fossati (flute) is steeped in the NYC Afrobeat scene, Lisa Dowling (bass) is also DJ Lil Miss Dolemite, and Owen weaver (drums) fronts as an electro-acoustic percussion artist and former thrasher. Together, they draw upon their diverse musical backgrounds for their song writing, improvisation, and commissioning of today's emerging composers.

Concert Black's debut show at Littlefield will feature premieres by Brooklyn based composer Robert Honstein and Austin's Pierce Gradone.

Peter Evans and Sam Pluta have been collaborating since 2008 in a wide variety of contexts. Both musicians individually have explored a wide variety of electro-acoustic music in various combinations of notated and improvised music (the Wet Ink Ensemble, Evan Parker´s Electro-Acoustic Ensemble, many freely improvised configurations) and have documented their playing together on two recent CDs - "Sum and Difference" on Carrier Records and "Ghosts" on More is More Records. Their duo work seeks to push the boundries of timbre, speed and dynamics of real-time interation between acoustically produced sound and digital processing. Visit and for more information.
Zs: Black Crown Ceremony - (Set time: 8:45 PM)
Zs: Black Crown Ceremony
Zs was founded in 2000 by tenor saxophonist and composer Sam Hillmer. Since the band’s inception ZS has incarnated as everything from a sextet to a duo, most recently featuring Ben Greenberg (electric guitar), Tony Lowe (electric guitar), and Ian Antonio (drum set), in addition to Hillmer’s signature sax ranting. While Zs' music has been variously categorized as no-wave, noise, post-minimalist, drone, and psych, it is primarily concerned with making music that challenges the physical and mental limitations of both performer and listener. Manipulating extended technique, unique instrumental synthesis, and near telepathic communication, Zs aims to create works that envelop the listener and unfold sonically over time, evoking unspoken past, present, and future rites and ritual. Zs has performed in lofts, galleries, basements, rock clubs, and concert halls across North America and Europe with The Locust, Gang Gang Dance, Animal Collective, Battles, The Dirty Projectors, Dan Deacon, Peter Brotzman and Han Bennick, and Louis Andriessen. Zs currently records for The Social Registry record label.
Hubble - (Set time: 8:00 PM)
"Ben Greenberg’s Hubble project feels like the jeweled shrine of a veteran road-worn head. Meditative, acute, and unrelenting, his gift to the listener is the expansion of the medium itself. Having cut his teeth in numerous bands such as Pygmy Shrews, Zs, and most recently with The Men, Greenberg has been fostering and cultivating his own unique reexamination of the the guitar as an instrument, resulting in a minimalist and truly psychedelic whirlwind of notes. Based in Brooklyn, NY, Hubble appearances are rare & highly commanding. A collaboration with likeminded locals Amen Dunes (Sacred Bones Records) and the recent addition of Greenberg's own vocals have demonstrated the flexibility of the Hubble concept, not just a sonic end but a modular approach that is able to inhabit and transcend genre and expectation. Like pouring moonshine into the pond of an inner city park, Hubble is a memory, a ritual, and a celebration - hyper instinctual and definitively American."
