Drunk Science is a live show hosted by comedians Joanna Rothkopf (managing editor at Jezebel), Shannon Odell (neuroscience PhD student at Weill Cornell) and Jordan Mendoza (once was pre-med).

Every month, three intoxicated comedians compete to present the best scientific dissertation to a panel of real scientists.

Myq Kaplan
Myq Kaplan recently made his debut on “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” his half-hour “Comedy Central Presents” special debuted earlier this year, and he was recently a Top 5 finalist on the most recent season of Last Comic Standing. He has also appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” at the New Faces show of the 2009 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, was voted 2008’s Best Local Comedian in the Boston Phoenix, and won the 2009 NY’s Funniest Standup Competition.
Rachel Joravsky
Rachel Joravsky is a comedian, writer, and director living in Harlem. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Rachel studied Dramatic Writing and Spanish from the Tisch School of the Arts. Rachel was a writer and performer for Hammerkatz — NYU’s premiere sketch comedy group, where she earned her chops playing orphan boys and gender bending toddlers.
Rachel she is head writer, producer, and founder of Damn Lady Laugh — a sketch comedy production company that releases monthly videos. You can catch Rachel performing at her monthly sketch show Peas in a Pot at the Peoples Improv Theater, as well as performing characters around NYC. Rachel has been featured on Above Average, Refinery 29, Reductress, and more.
Larry Owens
Larry is a performer, writer, director, and comedian residing in New York City. He is a staff writer on upcoming TruTV show Paid Off, where the winner of each show will receive full student loan debt relief. Awesome! Larry recently completed his first feature film, To Dust, opposite Matthew Broderick. Named one of TimeOutNY's "comedians we're obsessed with " Larry studied drama and improvisation at the School at Steppenwolf.
Special Guest Scientist, Dr. Jackie Faherty, PhD
Jackie Faherty is a senior Scientist and senior Education Manager jointly in the Department of Astrophysics and the Department of Education at the American Museum of Natural History. She is working at the forefront of brown dwarf and exoplanet atmosphere detection and characterization. She strives to create more opportunities for underrepresented minorities to enter STEM fields through unique outreach endeavors.
