The Current
The Current
The Current was founded in January 2011 by a group of post-grads who couldn't live without their collegiate a cappella fix. Since then, we've grown to a close-knit group, 12 members strong. Our rep is as diverse as our day jobs, which range from advertising mavens to law students to nutritionists, but our sound always comes back to our never-ending love for pop music (and mashups...always mashups). We've performed sold-out shows to top NYC venues like the Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall, but our favorite places to sing are right in our backyard—you might stumble upon us busking in Washington Square Park or Times Square on any given New York evening.
+ Dance Collective
+ Dance Collective was founded by Brianna Mercado with the intent to empower and uplift her community through movement. Based in New York City, + Dance fuses together contemporary, modern, theater, and hip-hop techniques to produce repertory that is innovative and inspiring to watch. Brianna Mercado is a professional dance artist, teacher, choreographer, and inspirational speaker. She holds a B.A. Dance & Performance Studies from UC Berkeley and has performed on projects for Nike, SEARS, NBC, Traveler’s Insurance, and the Rachael Ray Show. Credits include: The Grit, MUNY’s Jesus Christ Superstar & Aida (Dance Captain), Fuerza Bruta: Wayra, Broadway Underground, PHISH ‘Fuego’ Tour, Humans Collective, Rhapsody En Dance (Guest Company Member), and TED Talks.

Michael Thomas Geary
Michael Thomas Geary was born and raised in Granada Hills, California. The Valley. For those of you who don't know; this is the birthplace of video pornography. You probably don't know because you have the internet and have no use for VHS. Michael moved to NYC two years ago to pursue his dream of standup comedy when his therapist told him that it was his dream. He is honored to perform with The Current.
