Capt. Kirk Douglas (The Roots)
Capt. Kirk Douglas (The Roots)
You know him as the guitarist who brings it every night on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and in countless performances with The Roots, but did you know he used to teach kindergarten? See both sides of this multitalented family man as he gets ready to boogie with the kids.
The Vintage Babies (Maimouna Youssef & DJ Dummy)

Control The Sound
Control The Sound
Control the Sound may be young but they are seasoned musicians that bring their high energy everywhere they perform. They brought the house down last year at BBB and we can't wait to get funky with them again! Frontman and lead guitar Elijah Frechtman met drummer Carter Nyhan four years ago. From the start, it was clear they had a musical bond that helped them play at a level well beyond their years. Soon after they were joined by the powerful voice and funky bass of Elijah’s cousin, Audrey Frechtman. The beautiful horns of Kai Blanchard and Gabriel Goldman, percussion of Matias Ochoa-Troconis and Carter's sister Willa on keyboard complete their sound.
Chris Lightcap
Chris Lightcap
Bassist Chris Lightcap is best known for his work with Craig Taborn, Matt Wilson, Regina Carter and his critically acclaimed supergroup Bigmouth. Recently Lightcap assembled Superette, an all electric experimental rock band featuring Jonathan Goldberger and Curtis Hasselbring on guitars and Dan Rieser on drums. The group performed at the 2017 NYC Winter Jazz Fest and in 2018 will release its debut recording on Royal Potato Family Records featuring guests Nels Cline and John Medeski.
