Super Tight
SUPER TIGHT is a wild and wonderful party of an evening that showcases the most fantastical elements of art, comedy, music, and magic into a dizzying and immersive night of discovery, community, indulgence and run-on sentences. SUPER TIGHT has been flourishing in Los Angeles for the past 3 years, with monthly performances spanning multiple venues and incredible appearances by Daniel Johnston, Tim Heidecker, Reggie Watts, Maria Bamford, Ariel Pink, Devendra Barnhart, Kate Berlant, Neil Hamburger, Dynasty Handbag, Lauren Lapkus, Ducktails, and many more. Come join the cult and let your freak flag proudly fly.
Cole Escola
Cole Escola
COLE ESCOLA is a comedian, actor, and writer. The most attractive person to ever appear in the OUT 100. Named one of Brooklyn's 50 Funniest People by Brooklyn Magazine and Time Out New York's Top Ten Downtown Cabaret Performers. Plays Matthew on Hulu's "Difficult People." Co-creator, writer, and star of the lo-fi cult-hit TV show "Jeffery & Cole Casserole." Other TV appearances include "Nurse Jackie," "Law & Order," "Smash," and Netflix's "The Characters." Originated the role of Bridget Everett's fetus in "Rock Bottom" for The Public Theater in a performance Variety referred to as "heroic." His monthly solo sketch comedy show, "The First Gay President," has sold out every performance since it started in October of 2013 and has generated buzz and praise from the likes of PAPER Magazine and Lena Dunham.
Aparna Nancherla
Aparna Nancherla
Queen of that slightly cynical but innocent humor, Aparna Nancherla has been winning audiences everywhere she goes. You may have caught her on “Last Comic Standing”, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Aspen Rooftop or WTF podcast. Writer and player on W. Kamau Bell’s “Totally Biased” Aparna is sure to be soaking up the laughs. Look out for her on SF Sketchfest’s comedy lineup this year.
Sam Jay
Sam Jay
When asked how long she has been doing comedy Samaria (Sam Jay) Johnson smiles and replies “For as long as I could speak”. Hailing from Boston MA a city that is no stranger to comedic prowess; a place that can lay claim to the comedic talents of Jay Leno, Louis C.K., Conan O'Brien and many others, Sam Jay is setting her own stage. Some would say the fact that she’s female, African American, and a lesbian has allowed her to stand out in a male dominated industry. But it is more so how she can take these experiences and make them not only funny but relatable. Witty, candid, and raw she is bringing about a brand of comedy that has yet to be seen. Provoking audiences by pushing their thinking while still giving her sets the feel of a barroom conversation with one of your funniest friends. Her familiar personality on and off stage has allowed her to build quite the buzz in and around Boston comedy circles. Her 2013 invite to Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival and her 2014 acceptance into the Women In Comedy Festival as well as a stellar performance at the auditions for BET Comic View return to TV has got the industry insiders buzzing about this young lady. Opening for power house/veteran acts like Joe Clair (BET), Hannibal Burres (Comedy Central), and Rob Stapleton(Comedy Central) has not only helped this rising star hone her skills but has allowed her to branch out booking shows up and down the east coast. Performing at comedic institutions like Gotham NYC to the Comedy Studio in Cambridge Ma. Sam Johnson is wowing audiences and building her fan base. Her fresh, unique and warm approach makes Sam Jay a comedian worth seeing and one you will be talking about long after you do.
Clare O'Kane
Clare O'Kane
Clare O'Kane is an actress, comedian and writer from San Jose, California. She has performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest, FunFunFun Fest, and other wonderful, independent festivals around the country, such as:
The Comedy Exposition (Chicago)
Crom Comedy Festival (Omaha)
Too Much Funstival (Denver)
The Savage Henry Comedy Festival (Humboldt)
Hell Yes Fest (New Orleans)
Ryan Stiles' Stand Up Summer Slam (Alberta)
Uncle Funny's Improv, Stand-Up and Trampoline Consortium's Annual Pig Picnic (Cleveland)
The Red Rock Haha UhOh Oopsie County Fair (Fort Collins)
and more!
She has been described as "sarcastic" and "half-Asian". Along with being a stand up, Clare is also one-third of the sketch group Blessed. They have made a couple of very funny videos, none of which have gone viral. When she's not sneezing or whatever, Clare travels around the country to perform stand-up comedy and "seize the day". She hopes to get that tattooed on her lower back (for free) someday. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California with a guy and a cat.
