Hot Tub with Guest Host Jared Logan
Hot Tub is a weekly evening of comedy, music, and other weird shit. Come see the best and the newest comedians in the city! This edition will be hosted by the great Jared Logan!
Upon trying stand-up comedy on a dare, at the tender age of 19, Arj Barker immediately fell in love with it, dropped out of community college, and hit the road. Within a few years, he was regularly headlining clubs, both in his own country and in Australia and the UK. He has since appeared on Letterman, Conan, and the Tonight Show. He also plays "Dave" on HBO's "Flight of the Conchords." He continues to work all over the place, spending much of his time in Australia, where he is rumored to be 'big'. Arj will also appear in a new one hour special for Comedy Central to distributed by Warner Brothers Records.
Jared Logan's contagiously giddy and cartoonish stand-up act has been wowing audiences across the country. Getting his start in Chicago, Logan recently relocated to New York City. He has appeared on Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, TBS, and was a featured comic on collegehumor.com. He took home the award for Best Comedian at the Chicago Comedy Awards and won the Comedy Idol Competition in Detroit. In his free time, Logan acts as dungeon master for the best Dungeons &Dragons game in New York City.
Max Silvestri is a comedian, writer and actor living in Brooklyn. New York Magazine called him one of the "Ten Comedians People Find Funny," which means at least one person who works at a magazine thinks he is funny. For a long time he hosted a popular video podcast for VH1 called "Best Night Ever," which was big with high school students and still gets him lots of unsettling Facebook requests. Max writes a weekly column about how much loves eating and drinking for the Onion's AV Club NY and also takes writing about "Top Chef" for the website Eater too seriously. He's also written for Gawker, the Huffington Post and other places. Along with Gabriel Delahaye, he makes videos as Gabe & Max for places like Details Magazine. Max has been in some TV commercials. He co-hosts Big Terrific, Time Out New York's Best New Variety Show, every Wednesday in Williamsburg alongside Gabe Liedman and SNL's Jenny Slate.
Sean Patton is a comedian based in New York and Los Angeles by way of New Orleans. He cut his teeth doing stand-up in the the Crescent city and has since performed at Caroline’s, The Comedy Cellar, Gotham, The Improv, UCBNY, UCBLA, The Melbourne International comedy festival, The Montreal Just for Laughs comedy festival, and many other clubs around the US and Canada. Sean made his basic cable debut on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” his Network TV debut on “Late night with Jimmy Fallon,” and he recently appeared on “Conan”.
On his 20th birthday, Jermaine Fowler, moved to New York City from Washington D.C. with a small suitcase and big dreams. Soon after, he was being acknowledged in the New York Post's 50 Funniest Jokes alongside David Letterman and Jay Leno. He's performed in festivals across the country like the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival where he won the Rooftop Comedy Silver Nail Award. He's also performed as a finalist in NBC's Stand Up for Diversity and is currently on tour with Comedy Central. He is regularly featured on CollegeHumor.com and you may recognize him in commercials for SoBe Lifewater, Bud Light, Scion (Comedy Central), and Microsoft Bing. Jermaine was recently chosen by ABC to act in their 10th Annual Diversity Showcase. Now 24, you can catch Jermaine on SyFy's brand new series "Insane or Inspired", Adult Swim's The Eric Andre Show, and the reboot of In Living Color coming this June.
Tyler Fischer is an actor, comedian, improviser, and writer. He acts in TV, film, and theatre productions, and performs stand-up regularly around the city. He can be seen at The Comic Strip Live, and has performed with Colin Quinn, Wyatt Cenac, Sherri Shepherd and Michael Showalter. He hosts a variety show here at the PIT called “Fresh Fisch” on the first Saturday of every month at 8pm.
Based in New York City, Kate Berlant performs her psychedelic, absurdist stand-up in some of the most celebrated alternative comedy shows in New York and Los Angeles. Her weekly show “Crime & Punishment” at the famed Lower East Side music venue the Cake Shop regularly features beloved comics like Reggie Watts, Michael Showalter and Janeane Garofalo. Often improvised, her stream-of-consciousness comedy often leaves people wondering what just happened to them– in a good way! Her act has been described as “if David Lynch did stand-up.” She has performed her PowerPoint presentation, “An Illustrative Colonoscopy into an Epistemological Kitty Cat” in several NYC gallery spaces, and was selected by Brooklyn’s 2011 SITE Fest as a featured performer.
