The Johnny Cash 80th Birthday Bash

The Johnny Cash 80th Birthday Bash will return to Brooklyn on February 25 at Littlefield. Doors are at 8pm and music will start at 9pm. This show has sold out every year since its inception so advance tickets are a must.
For 8 years, Alex Battles and his band the Whisky Rebellion have presented a sold out Johnny Cash Birthday Bash in Brooklyn. This year's show is the first two night affair (the other show being Feb 24 at Bell House), with Battles and his band performing the legendary "At Folsom Prison" concert at Littlefield on Saturday, February 25.
The film "Five Minutes to Live" (Johnny Cash's first starring role, 1961) will be shown as doors open on Saturday.
This year's stage will feature a large original mural by Gowanus-based photorealist painter, LJ Lindhurst. Prints of this mural will be available for purchase from the artist at the show.
DJs from the WKCR American Department will play classic country throughout the evening.
Battles's band features the guitar work of Vincent "The Old Perfesser" Sbano, a train driver for the New York City subway and Luther Perkins devotee. Other special guests for the evening include Jack Grace and Lindy Loo.
Alex Battles is the creator of the Brooklyn Country Music Festival, the Johnny Cash Birthday Bash, and the CasHank Hootenanny Jamboree. In 2011, he released four albums of original music on iTunes.
