Primary Records Night
Primary Records Night
Primary Records is a record label founded in 2011 in Brooklyn by Anthony LaMarca (Dean & Britta/St Vincent) and Oren Kessler. The idea behind the label is to grow awareness of and give voice to this community of artists. This night is celebrating the label's first release; In One Wind's 'How Bright A Shadow! ' and will be a showcase for Primary's roster.
In One Wind
In One Wind
In One Wind is a six-piece group anchored in New York City. They blur genres, but draw on folk, indie rock, avant-garde, and pop sounds. Their full length debut, "How Bright a Shadow!", will be release in summer 2011.
The Building
The Building
“You’re Still Champ” EP is made up of instrumental elements from The Building's forthcoming album “The Swooshy Businessman”. In the context of the songs that they are from, these elements might get buried or brushed over. But when presented on their own, they become romanticized versions of themselves; sounding more grand and important than they actually are. There is also the possibility for them to sound superfluous and not worth being presented outside the context of their song. This idea of perception of memory is also central to the songs of “The Swooshy Businessman”.
Names of War
Names of War
Names of War is fronted by singer/songwriter, Andrew Carlson. Originally a one-man act, the group is now filled out by members of Brooklyn bands: The Building, In One Wind, and St. Vincent.
