Butterboy with Jo, Aparna and Maeve
Butterboy with Jo, Aparna and Maeve
Three chuckle monsters descend on Littlefield every Monday at 8pm, clutching with them a horde of the freshest, silver-tongued comics and phone sex operators this city has to offer. Legends in their own right, these three friends, Aparna Nancherla, Maeve Higgins and Jo Firestone combine forces to host the funniest and best show in Gowanus! Accompanied by the musical stylings of DJ Donwill and the sensual silence of a rotating Idris Elba impersonator, you won't want to miss it. Plus, find out which parts of this blurb are bold, unapologetic lies!

Jo Firestone is a comedian whose work can be seen on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Chris Gethard Show, and heard on WFMU and Earwolf. She was recently named a New Face at the 2016 Just for Laughs Festival, and her Comedy Central half hour comes out this fall. If you like puns, check out her board game, Punderdome: A Card Game for Pun Lovers. If you don't like puns, don't worry about it. You can also see Jo doing stand-up in different basements around the city.

Aparna Nancherla is a comedian of the stand-up variety, but can often be seen sitting. Last year, she released her debut album, Just Putting It Out There, on Tig Notaro’s new label, Bentzen Ball Records and recorded a Comedy Central half hour special. This year, she was named one of “The 50 Funniest People Right Now” by Rolling Stone. Currently, you can catch her on the latest seasons of Bojack Horseman, Master of None and Love, all on Netflix, as well as on HBO's Crashing. She's also written for Late Night with Seth Meyers (NBC) and Totally Biased (FX). Aparna will next appear on the upcoming Comedy Central show, Corporate.

--

Maeve Higgins is the host of the hit podcast Maeve In America: Immigration IRL. She has performed all over the world, including in her native Ireland, Edinburgh, Melbourne and, most recently, Erbil. Now based in New York, she's made a name for herself there too. In a good way! She co-hosts Neil deGrasse Tyson's StarTalk on National Geographic and has appeared in Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer. Her work has been published in The New York Times and The Irish Times, and she is writing a book of essays for Penguin due for publication later this year.

Josh Gondelman
Josh Gondelman
Josh Gondelman is a writer and comedian who incubated in Boston before moving to New York City. With years of experience as a preschool teacher and a pretty good guy, Josh charms audiences using his good-natured storytelling and cracks them up with his sharp, pointy wit. Josh’s comedy touches on topics from rainbows to gangsta rap and makes them all equally hilarious thanks to his terrific writing and performing. In 2010, Josh traveled to Atlanta for the inaugural Laughing Skull Comedy Festival, where he turned heads and captured first prize! Since then he has become an in-demand performer on a national scale. He has performed at the Rooftop Comedy Festival in Aspen, CO, and headlined at the Laugh Your Asheville Off Festival in Asheville, NC. More recently he has appeared in the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival and SF Sketchfest. Josh’s grandmother was especially thrilled to see him on television on G4?s “Attack of the Show” and MavTV’s “Rooftop on the Road.” His first CD, “Everything’s The Best” was released in November of 2011 by Rooftop Comedy Productions.
Ian Fidance
Ian Fidance
Ian Fidance is an offbeat yet upbeat stand up comic, writer, and actor from Wilmington, Delaware who calls New York City his home; Brooklyn to be specific, but you can already tell from his mustache. A delicious cup of tea best drank live, Ian's comedy has been described as "bizarre yet funny" by The Interrobang. He can be heard every week on SiriusXM Comedy Central Radio's "You Up?" with Nikki Glaser, is a regular guest on SiriusXM The Bennington Show, Duncan Trussell's Family Hour podcast, and is a staple on Compound Media making regular appearances on The Morning Show, Burning Bridges with Kevin Brennan, and the Artie Lange & Anthony Cumia Show. Fidance made his stand up TV debut on the third season of AXS TV's "Gotham Comedy Live," can be seen on the upcoming season of "Talk 30 to Me" on VH1, was recently featured on Late Night with Seth Meyers, and has a real happenin' podcast called "Ian Fidance's Wild World," available for download on iTunes.

After working a million jobs while growing up an only child to a single mother in Delaware, Ian has grown to be a live force and a stand out stand up with a fresh, positive voice in comedy. He can be seen nightly riding his bike(cycle) everywhere sharing his unique point of view and wild stories at places like the Comedy Cellar in New York City's Greenwich Village, Stand Up New York, UCB Theatre, the Creek & the Cave, Union Hall, and The Bell House in Brooklyn. Every month he hosts a live stand up & animation show called "Picture This!" at Union Hall in Park Slope. He'll hit the road often playing clubs and independent venues all across the country, but will usually use his car for that.
Jane Harrison
Jane Harrison
Jane Harrison got her start in San Francisco, but was lured to Chicago by the promise of hot dogs and orgasms. She found at least one of those things on a consistent basis. Her frank material, delivered in her smoky radio voice, only makes people uncomfortable who deserve to be uncomfortable. For everyone else, her act is a feet-up, hair-down, mic-drop tour de farce. She's performed in SF Sketchfest, at Cobb's Comedy Club, the San Francisco Punch Line, and the Outside Lands Music Festival. She's currently in talks with a guy at a bar who makes her nervous.
Alex English
Alex English
Alex English is a Stand up Comedian, Writer & Actor based in New York City, by way of Detroit, Michigan. He likes to let people know where’s from, so that it scares people - it sometimes, almost, never scares anyone.

Alex has opened for Comedians James Adomian (IFC), Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live) and Hadiyah Robinson (BET), and has even performed in the New York Comedy festival! Not bad for a guy that sometimes wears his underwear backward, right?

Catch him regularly blazing the stage at Stand Up NY comedy club, or co-hosting his free monthly “Cool” comedy show at The Standing Room, In Long Island City, Queens every last Wednesday of the month. He’s traveling these days too, so look out for him in your town! (especially if you’re on jack’d).
Marcia Belsky
Marcia Belsky
Marcia Belsky is a New York City based stand-up comedian, musician and writer. After being raised an opinionated little Jewish girl in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she started her comedy career in Portland, Oregon and has since performed around the country.

In 2014, she was a semifinalist in the NBC StandUp For Diversity competition, and her web series Couch House was an official selection in the 2015 New York Television Festival. Currently, she performs stand up regularly around the New York area and has contributed to the popular satirical website Reductress.
