Janet Varney is an Emmy-Nominated actor, comedian, writer and producer. In the animation world, she is lucky enough to be the award-winning voice of Korra on Nickelodeon’s critically-acclaimed standout hit The Legend of Korra, a role for which she continues to be invited to comic cons to give sweaty handshakes the world over. She can currently be seen as the entitled and bitchy Becca on FXX’s You’re the Worst (consistently named as one of TV’s best current comedies), as wine-loving Denie in Christy Stratton Mann’s Everyone’s Crazy But Us, as Melina on Seeso’s Take My Wife, and recurring as her semi-snarky self on @midnight With Chris Hardwick. And beginning November 2nd, she can be seen fighting dark forces opposite John C. McGinley on indie darling IFC, in their new horror-comedy from Dana Gould, Stan Against Evil.

Janet is a regular performer on Paul F. Tompkins’ Spontaneanation podcast in addition to hosting her own podcast, Nerdist Network’s popular The JV Club with Janet Varney, where she interviews celebrities about their awkward teenage years. Onstage, Janet performs with Rachel Dratch, John Michael Higgins, Michael Hitchcock, Oscar Nunez and more in their improv supergroup Theme Park, and is a WorkJuice Player for the beloved Thrilling Adventure Hour. She is a writer/performer for Rifftrax with Mystery Science Theatre 3000’s Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy, can be seen this summer on Geek & Sundry’s Escape! which she hosts and produces.

On the development and production side, Janet co-created, co-wrote and co- produced Neil’s Puppet Dreams, a series featuring Neil Patrick Harris and his puppet-filled dreams, now in pre-production for a second season. She co-programs comedy for Outside Lands music festival and is co-founder/creative director/producer of one of the largest and most acclaimed comedy festivals in North America, SF Sketchfest: the San Francisco Comedy Festival, now in its 16th year.

Janet spent seven wonderful years hosting TBS's Dinner and a Movie and was a series regular on the beloved E! and Yahoo series Burning Love seasons 1 and 3. She recurred on HBO's Entourage and showed up on hits like How I Met Your Mother, American Housewife, Maron, Shameless, Key and Peele, Kroll Show, Psych, Childrens Hospital, Bones, and Chelsea Lately. Jean Grae
Jean Grae
Jean Grae first performed under the moniker "What? What?" as a member of the indie group Natural Resource, providing classic singles such as "Baseball" and "Bum Deal." Then with her solo efforts: Attack of The Attacking Things, This Week, The Bootleg of the Bootleg and the 9th Wonder produced Jeanius, provided the platform for Jean Grae's ability to fit as many syllables as possible into short time spans. Grae has featured on tracks with Pharoahe Monch, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Wale, Lil B the Based God, Phonte and Joell Ortiz and a long list of others that is impossible to fit into this bio. On a return to demonstrating her own abilities to produce (Jean has produced under the aka's Run Run Shaw and Nasain Nahmeen) as well as direct, Grae released video and song "Kill Screen aka Steve Wiebe" from her upcoming project Gotham Down. Twisting time and space, Jean Grae's much anticipated "Cake or Death" is set to be released second, though it chronologically precedes "Gotham Down" story wise. Her fate was ultimately changed forever with the actualization of Jean's passion for comedy and satire in recent stand up appearances and a self-produced, written and directed sitcom, Life With Jeannie, is in the works. Recently, appearing on the John Hodgman show and Low Times podcast with Daniel Ralston, audiences were treated to her special blend of music and comedy. To sum up, Jean is a superhero. She's better than everyone at doing everything. You should enjoy and support all of the things that she ever does, because she might disintegrate you if you don't.
