Phil Hanley
Phil Hanley
Phil Hanley began standup comedy by performing at open mics around Vancouver, often in between bands at music venues. In these establishments he discovered and honed his unique blending of material and crowd interaction that makes no two of his performances the same. Phil’s style can best be described as unpredictably reflective, delivered with sharp accuracy, and rooted in the grand tradition of joke-telling.

Since arriving in the States, Phil has appeared on “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” twice. In 2012, he returned to Just For Laughs for a second time and he was selected for the Comics-To-Watch Showcase as part of the New York Comedy Festival. In 2013, Phil performed on John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show for Comedy Central, and most recently, in 2014, Phil performed on The Pete Holmes Show on TBS.
Maria Heinegg
Maria Heinegg
Maria Heinegg is a comedian and writer from Seattle who's been on Bravo, Spike TV and Sirius radio. She's written for XOJane, HuffPo, Milk.XYZ, CollegeHumor, I Can Has Cheezburger?, and hosts "The Worst Thing Podcast" on iTunes. She loves tweeting (@mariaheinegg) and holding your dog.
Nonye Brown-West
Nonye Brown-West
I am a Nigerian-American comedian, producer, and writer living and working in the Boston area. I have been featured in the Boston Globe's Rise column as a Comic to Watch. In August I will appear on Night Train with Wyatt Cenac. I host the Women in Comedy Festival's monthly show every fourth Thursday at ImprovBoston. This fall I will be co-producing a show, with the Boston Comedy Chicks, as part of the Cinder Block Comedy Festival in New York.
Loyiso Madinga
Loyiso Madinga
Loyiso Madinga may be small in stature but he’s definitely not short on jokes. This rural raised boy has quickly risen to being a certified international comic. Having started in 2012 when spent a week at the Teatro where he shared the stage with international acts like Tom Segura Loyiso’s career was on the fast track. Since then, he quickly became a regular on David Kau’s Blacks Only line up. He then travelled the country on Trevor Noah’s Nationwild tour and represented SA at the Montreux Comedy Festival, Switzerland, and Busan Comedy Festival, Korea. His debut one man show, Born Free-ish, was a four night, sold out success.

And he’s as comfortable on screen as he is on stage. Loyiso has written and performed on the two-time Emmy finalist satire show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola and also written and performed on the hit sketch show, Bantu Hour. All of this in just five years and he’s just beginning. From a small village in the Eastern Cape to world stages, his 1.65m of height means Loyiso Madinga is tall on the inside.
Ian Harvie
Ian Harvie
Although Ian Harvie didn’t have a language for his identity growing up in rural Maine in the 70s & 80s, he knew he was trans* at an early age. Harvie had the pleasure of coming out twice, as he describes in his routine. “The first time I came out to my parents, I was a girl. I simply told them, ‘I like girls’. The second time I came out to my parents, I said ‘Mom, Dad, I still like girls and I want to be a dude’, you can imagine how that went over.”

Harvie began his standup comedy career in 2002 at a local comedy club in Portland, Maine. He continued with his new found passion of writing and performing material throughout the northeast. Four years into his budding career, Ian moved to Los Angeles (2006) to pursue the art and began working with the iconic comic, Margaret Cho, as her regular opening act for 3 years.

During that time, Harvie toured all over the world with Cho, then turned solo act, cross-country headliner and groundbreaking transgender comedian. Unafraid to joke about subjects no other comedian has ever touched, Ian’s unique act challenges the traditionally macho, sex-obsessed world of stand up in ways you won’t believe, proving that laughter cuts across all gender identities and ultimately unites us all.

He continues to perform in clubs, theaters and colleges around the globe and has appeared in some of the world’s most prestigious comedy festivals: JUST FOR LAUGHS in Australia and Canada, and the MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL in Australia, and SKETCHFEST in San Francisco. Ian travels back to his home state of Maine every summer since 2011, for a couple of weeks, to produce his own home-grown style comedy writing camp, followed by the MAINE COMEDY FESTIVAL.

Ian made his acting debut as “Dale” in the critically acclaimed, Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning TV series TRANSPARENT on Amazon. You may have also seen Ian guest starring as ”Michael” on the ABC soapy, nighttime drama, MISTRESSES; as “Chris” on FREEFORM’s hilarious, millennial sitcom YOUNG AND HUNGRY; and as himself on COMEDY CENTRAL’s THE NIGHTLY SHOW WITH LARRY WILMORE, and much more. Most recently Harvie filmed his one-hour standup comedy special MAY THE BEST COCK WIN for NBC’s digital network, SEESO released early 2017, and now streaming on iTunes and Google Play.
