VZn
VZn
VZn is an experimental funk duo formed in Jersey City, NJ in 2015. The group consists of Joe Kleanest (lead guitar, vocals) and Bushiido Brown (production, vocals). Before forming VZn, Vancouver, WA native Joe Kleanest was an independent rapper, recording music in his closet and often collaborating with artists in the talent-rich Ithaca, NY scene, which included Sammus, Daniel X, and eventual bandmate Bushiido Brown, a producer from Fort Worth, TX. After teaching himself to play guitar while in school, Kleanest graduated and moved to Jersey, where he would later be joined by Bushiido. Together, they met Baba Ali and joined what became Brooklyn based psychedelic rock NightClass. The duo's improvisational chemistry on drums & guitar helped spawn the band's imaginative, lone project, Vol. I, before they broke up in Spring 2015. After the inspiring run with NightClass, Bushiido and Kleanest opted to move in together, recording dynamic lo-fi tracks under the name VZn. Characterized by soulful grooves and textured vocal layering, VZn's sound recalls their collective influences, which include Nirvana, Outkast, Jimi Hendrix, HOMESHAKE, Tame Impala, Tyler, The Creator and more.
Cross Culture
Cross Culture
Cross Culture is a musical experience you have yet to experience. Literally. When people think of a band with two emcess, they rarely think of a married couple. Rarely do they see the rest of the members in the roles they serve in the band. Formed by emcee, Saidu Ezike in October 2014; the goal of Cross Culture is to break barriers through the fusion of musical genres. In addition, the goal is for people to Break Barriers in their own lives as we believe the Cross Culture experience is greater than music. Though it may be difficult to see from the surface, members of the band have performed/collaborated with the likes of Run DMC, Beyonce, Black Sheep to name a few. Gearing up for the release of their debut album, Majesty in 2017, sky's the limit for this motivated group of individuals.
